PapyrusAI

For this task we used PapyrusAi to help create and mix together two stories. PapyrusAI is a generative AI that creates ideas by using patterns in our words and a LLM (Large Language Model). We also used our knowledge of two fairy tales to create a mix of the two stories. I really liked that the AI gave me suggestions to help me improve my writing by prompting me to explore my ideas in more detail.

Little Red Riding Hood meets Snow White

While walking back home after dropping off food for her grandma, Little Red Riding Hood saw a dark figure in the distance walking towards her. She tried to run away but she tripped and twisted her ankle. As the figure gets closer and closer, she thinks that  this might be the end for her. However, instead of a beast, she sees a young woman carrying a basket of flowers. The woman introduces herself as Snow White and asks if Red Riding Hood is okay, noticing her swollen ankle.

Snow White brings Red Riding Hood to a safe place and asks, “So why are you out in the forest?” Red Riding Hood responds, “Well, I left home to try and find some friends.” Snow White replies, “Well, tomorrow I’ll walk you home.”

The next day, when Snow White wakes up, she sees that Red Riding Hood has baked muffins to thank her. They soon arrive back home, and Red Riding Hood’s mother is happy that she is safe. She decides to be less strict and allow Red Riding Hood to find friends.

In the end, Red Riding Hood is playing outside with many of her friends. Her mother looks on, smiling and laughing, happy that her daughter has found people she can trust.

Heart Rate Experiment

For this task we learnt about where our pusles are and why they play such a big role in our body, we first found our what our normal heart rate was we set a timer for 20 seconds while we waited for the timer to end we checked and counted out pusle I had the average of 32 per 20 second we then times t by 3 which came out to 96 per minute. After we all finish adding u out numbers we went outside andjogged on the spot and me and my partner heart rated almost doubled. Next we learnt where we can find all our pusles some of them are the wrist, neck, elbow and thumb.

I enjoyed this activty as i got to learn where all of my pulses are locatited at.

The Importance of Sleep

For this task we created a DLO and researched why sleep is so important and vital for humans. The reason why we sleep is to let our brain reset and relax, but many people don’t sleep at the correct time which stops them from resetting their brain which causes them to have headaches in the morning, stress and fatigue. Our brain knows when to sleep because of light, when it is daytime our brain knows to stay active but when it’s night our brain knows it’s time to sleep but technology gets in the way because of the bright LEDS that confuses our brain and many people around don’t get the right amount of sleep which can cause diabetes, Migrans, heart disease, Kidney problems and in some rare cases strokes. Some way we can stop this from happening is by sleeping earlier, not using our devices 1 hour before we go to sleep and not staying up often. there is something called jet lag and that is when someone flies to another country which a much different time zone an example is is I flew to america from New Zealand your brain would think that it is still daytime even though it is night in America but we can stop this by taking short naps to help our brain adjust.

I found this task interesting as i got to know why we sleep and the side effect if we don’t

Deep Sea Creatures

LI: How to smart search for a specifc animal

For this task we looked at many differnt deep sea animal and our challenge was to create our own deep sea animal. Me and my partner created an eel like animal with 17 legs and pitch black eyes as well as a large amount of teeth that covered our animals mouth and as well as a long antenna that would lure prey. And it also had a baby that was blue and was chasing a baby fish that was running away.

Water Safety Kahoot

For this task I created a kahoot that warns people about the dangers of swimming without knowing how to swim. Water safety is imported for the people in newzealand as New Zealand in covered by water and anywhere you go you can find a river, ocean, beach ect. Over 90 people sad pass away from swimming and 3 out of 10 New Zealand men/woman cant swim or dont know how to, and that is about 30% of the population that is at risk of drowning.

Rosie Ruiz

LI: To skim and scan to find facts and make notes in my own words

LI: To reorganize your information

LI: To ask questions about a text to strengthen your connections

LI: to make connections

For this task we learnt about the famous boston runner that cheated to win. The runners name is Rosie Ruiz, we first read the text on how and why she cheated. The reason why she cheated was to not become last as all the other runners would easily dust her. And the way that she cheated was by getting dropped off by a car, her plan was to be dropped off in the middle of the pack of runners. But little did she know she miscalculated and got dropped off a mile ahead of the other runners. When we read the text we wrote comments about how she most likely felt why she may have done it and why.

I found this task fun as I got to collaborate with my group to discuss how and why Rosie cheated.

Swimming Safety

Last week LS2 went to panmure pools to learn how to be water safe. I learnt how to dolphin dive, freestyle as well as backstroke, dolphine dive is when you put both of your hand in front of you and jump into the water hands first and swim as far as you can. backstroke is when you lay on your back on the water and use your feet to kick the water and move your hand like a windmil to swim faster in the water.

I found this fun as I got to learn new ways to swim better

Ancient Olympics Boxing

LI:to compare a sport and see the changes.

For this task we compared a sport from the ancient olympics to the same sport but in todays olympics. We pick boxing as we thought there would be the most differntes. Some of the changes that we found were that ancient boxers used ox leather to cover their hand and wrist, while in todays boxer they use one of three padding.

Ancient Olympics Kahoot Challenge

L.I: to recall our knowledge on the Ancient Olympics at speed.

For this task we created a kahoot to recall the ancient olympics. We first created question by reading each others Olympics slides on the wall. After we came up with our question we put them onto a kahoot for our class to play.

I found this task fun as we got to recall about the ancient Olympics and play kahoot.
