LI: to write a poem about an abstract noun

For this task we wrote a poem about an abstract noun, our abstract noun was adventure. we wrote about what adventure smells, tastes, sounds, feels and looks like and example is adventure smells like curiosity trying to lure you in.

Mount Maungarei Poem

LI: to write a poem and use powerful words

For this task we went up mount Maungarei (mountain) and when we can back we wrote a poem about what we heard, what we saw, what we felt and what we wondered. An example is I heard the blar of the honking traffic below my feet and I wondered if the rough winds would carry me to the past.

I enjoyed this activity because I got the chance to walk up a mountain and write a powerful poem about my experiece going up.

Polar Bear Poem

LI: to write a poem and use strong words

For this task we wrote a poem about polars bear, we used powerful words to say as if we were there in the cage with the polar bear.

I enjoyed writing the poem with my group as we could all come up with powerful words to use in the poem.

Name Art

LS2 made taniwha names, the name were inspired by a Google taniwha name. We first drew the design of the taniwha names on paper then we copied it and we tryed to drew the same design that was ion paper onto Google drawings and it look much better.

I found this activity hard because it was pretty easy to draw the design on paper but when I had to draw on computer it was much harder.

Vision Board

I lea rnt and created a vision for 2024 and my vision board consisted of the college I want to go to in the future, an awarded I want to win, become a better Muslim and get the best marks this year. The idol that I want to become is Muhammad Ali and if I want to be like him I have to be dedicated to achieving my goal in the future.

I found this task fun because I could find out more about my idol.

My Pepeha

LI: to write and say our pepeha

To help us get to know eachother, we have written our pepehas. This allows us to make connections and form friendships with eachother. I wrote my granparents names, where I was raised, when my ancestors arived in, I acknowledge the indigenous people of Panmure/Mt Wellington I acknowledge the important landmarks of Panmure/Mt Wellington.

I found this activity fun because I got to learn how to introduce my self in Maori

Summer Learning Journey – Tangram Builder

For the summer learning journey kick start we used shapes to create images of differnt things such as sharks, a person with a foorball, a scropein and the washington monument. my favourite shape to create was the shark as it was the hardest but the funniest as i had to find out which shapes went where.
