Supervillian

For the Summer Learning Journey step up we our own supervillain with AI craiyon. AI craiyon is a website that allows you to describe an image that you want and it’ll create it for you in minutes.

The villain that I created was a villain named Usopp, Usopp is the son of klahadore and his sister is kaya. Usopp’s backstory is that a long time ago he was hit by a meteor and when he woke up he realised he had powers and he trained everyday to learn how to use his powers. One day he decided to kill the president of Afghanistan but there’s a hero named Ali that won’t let him hurt the president.

Cultural Superheros

For the summer learning journey kick start we created our own cultural superheros using AI craiyon. AI craiyon is a website that allows you to describe an image that you want and itll create it for you in minutes.

The superhero that I created was a superhero named Ali, Ali is an only child of mohammad and mariam. but the twist is the hif own father is his arch nemesis but his father has no clue. Because of this it add complex character development to Ali. some of the power that ali posses is being able to control lighting as well as being lighting its self, mind reading, telekinnesis and teleportation.

Phares dans la Tempete, la Jument

LI: To use your smart searching skills to find the story behind this picture

Our challenge was to write create a DLO that shows where this lighthouse is and what the story is behind the image. We found out that the Phares dans la Tempete, la Jument is a lighthouse in a remote island in france.

I found this activity exciting because i found out the story about Phares dans la Tempete, la Jument.

Inchcape Rock

LI: To find and summarise the story behind the poem

Our challenge was to unpack the story behind the 17 verses of the poem Inchcape Rock by Robert Southy. The part I found interesting was the storyline because It had lots of storng words.

I found this activity interestin because I found the story behind of the inchcape rock.

What Happened Down The Stairs

Our challenge was to co construct a text using the olfactory, auditory, gustatorial, visual and kinethetic senses to describe the story behind the shoes in this image. This time we were able to speak and sat facing our partners.

Once we had completed this part of the challenge we joined together with another group to share our writing and make sure what we had written made sense and had met the language feature challenge.

I found this activity interesting because we could use word hippo to add better discribing words

Collaborative Art

This week’s art is about Van Gogh and his famous art piece “The Starry Night”. The Class was divided into 2 groups of 16 people, 1 of each group remade “The Starry Night” in warm colours and cool colours digitally. Each group divided 16 pieces of the Starry Night with each person in the group. Working as a collaborative team we gathered all or pieces to 1 DLO to finally reach our desired outcome.

I found this activity intersting because we could not trace and had to do it by hand

Pablo Picasso who am I

LI: to use our smart searching skills for research

For this inquiry, our topic researching about the famous artist Pablo Picasso. By using our smart researching skill we used the knowledge on the internet to create a DLO on personal information about him. Something I found interesting about Picasso was that he would express his feeling with his art.

I found this activity fun because i got to lean what kind of art picasso did and the people he influenced

Tension Graphs

LI: To gauge the tension in a text

From Afganistan to Aotearoa

Escape from Afganistan

My name is Rez

Our challenge in this activity was to gauge the tension across the events in the text. We needed to change the line height to show the change in tension as the story progressed.  The level of tension each event was rated (1-10) to show how we were feeling as each event unfolded. This was a collaborative challenge so we needed to have a learning conversation to discuss our ideas and decide the tension level as a group. We did this challenge for the texts ‘Escape From Afghanistan ‘, “From Afghanistan to Aotearoa’ and ‘My name is Rez’.

When I compare these graphs I notice that in my name is Rez had tension but then the tension started to go away.

I found this activity intersting because we learnt how people risked everything for freedom

Statistical Investigation

LI: To read the text, gather sort, graph and analyse the data

Our maths group created a diagram which shows the top six rivers in Auckland from smallest to largest. We used our collaborative skills to find out the data of each river. We put these rivers in this order from shortest to longest: Whanau river, Puhoi river, Tamaki river, Waitakere river, Hotoe river and Waiora river. We used our knowledge to come to the conclusion on what river is the longest out of the 6 rivers in Auckland, which is the Waiora which is 65 km long.

I found this activity interesting because I got to learn what the longest river in New Zealand is.

Digital Escape Rooms

LI:  To create a digital escape room that allows others to practise their knowledge  of prefixes and suffixes

This week I learnt how to create a digital escape room using Google forms. All my questions are on the affixes because writing the questions/answers and wrong answers really made me think about how to trick people into picking the worng answer. At the end I needed to put  some clue and put a code for the people to find out.

I found this activity interesting because I have never made an escape room.

Mrs Anderson has created a page on our site with all our escape rooms on it. Click on this link to crack our codes and increase your knowledge of affixes.
